Writing & prose
Long-form documents, markdown, technical docs, and Fountain screenplays.
Built for long form
The document editor is designed for briefs, novels, specs, and policies - not one-page notes. You get a structured schema (not arbitrary HTML), an outline, a format bar, tables, slash commands, and comments.
Font, size, and emphasis apply to the word or selection you chose. The editor does not silently restyle an entire line because one word is bold.
Markdown and technical docs
Authors who prefer Markdown can work in a familiar syntax and still export to DOCX, PDF, or HTML. Technical writers use headings, code blocks, and tables without leaving the same library as narrative teams.
- ·Prose and Markdown in one document model
- ·Code blocks and tables for specs
- ·Stable headings for deep links and outlines
Fountain screenplays
Film and TV drafts use Fountain markers for scene headings, character cues, parentheticals, and transitions. LiEditor keeps industry layout on screen and on export so a script is not a Word file pretending to be a screenplay.
Export
When a draft must leave the workspace, export through Pandoc or LibreOffice: DOCX, PDF, Markdown, LaTeX, and more. The live document stays editable; the file is a snapshot.
